Where Your Money Goes What happens to the funds we raise? 80% is immediately available for essential school programs and materials. 20% is retained in a permanent endowment fund that generates income to ensure the future of these programs. Through generous community and parent support, the HBEF raised $786,000 for the 2010/2011 school year. Out of this total, $615,587 came directly from Annual Appeal donations from parents, community members and PTO donations. Our participation rate in the Annual Appeal this year was 48% - imagine what we can do with 100% participation! The HBEF’s various fundraisers totaled the remaining $170,413. The money raised this year has been donated back to the schools and will be used this upcoming school year to support critical programs such as Reduced Class Sizes, Middle School Electives, Physical Education, Libraries at both View and Valley school, and the Science Labs. Every year we strive to preserve these valuable programs. With 100% participation, your annual donations to the HBEF will help keep these programs from being cut.
