Math Olympiad is funded by HBEF and open to all Middle School students at Hermosa Valley School.  The goals of the program are to have fun doing Math, to challenge ourselves, to learn strategies to problem solve, and to work as a team.  We are planning to enter at least two competitions this year. 

The class meets on Tuesday mornings from 7:30 to 8:20.  The students in the class work individually and in groups to solve problems supplied as practice by the various competitions.  The older students and Mrs. Avol, the sponsor, are able to assist the younger students who may not have the knowledge yet to solve some of the more difficult problems.
