About Us

What is the HBEF?
Incorporated in 1992, the HBEF is a fund-raising organization for Hermosa Beach public schools.  Operated entirely by volunteers, our focus is to meet the school district's educational needs by funding instructional programs in science, technology, foreign language and the arts.  The HBEF enhances our schools by restoring programs cut by the state.

What happens to the funds we raise?
80% is immediately available for essential school programs and materials.  20% is retained in a permanent endowment fund that generates income to ensure the future of these programs.

When and where do we meet?
HBEF meets a minimum of four times a year.  We meet at Hermosa Valley School, 1645 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA, in the multi-purpose room, at 7:30 p.m.  Please check the Upcoming Board Meetings page for our next meeting date.
